Our Current Clinical Trials
Clinical research is the study of new pharmaceutical therapies or medical devices that are designed to improve the treatment of a specific disease. When promising new drugs or devices appear, N.A.R.C. participates in highly specific clinical trials to evaluate these products. Qualified participants will receive study drugs and related testing at no cost and may receive compensation for time and travel.
Our team is dedicated to making clinical research an enjoyable and educational experience for all of our participants. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional customer service and patient care. Our study coordinators enjoy spending time with all of our patients and many of our first-time patients decide to enroll in other clinical trials.
We are currently recruiting patients for the following studies. You do NOT need to be an established patient with N.A.R.C to participate and health insurance is NOT required.
Influenza (one study is currently available)
Available for patients 65 years of age and older who have experienced flu symptoms for 36 hours or less, are at risk for developing further complications from flu, and are not currently taking Tamiflu.
Studies range in length between 2-5 months and can have 4-5 appointments in the office during that time.
The length of the visit will vary depending on the study but can range from 2-6 hours.
This study will involve an oral medication.
Clostridium difficile (three studies currently available)
Studies range in length between 6-9 months with appointments typically one per month.
One study is for patients 18 years and older who have recently had their first diagnosis of CDI and are currently on antibiotics. Study medication may eliminate recurrence after this initial episode which typically occurs at least once in 15-35% of patients.
The second study is for patients 50 years of age and older who have never been diagnosed with CDI to test a vaccination.
The third study is for patients 18 years of age and older who have experienced three or more episodes of CDI in the past twelve months
